The number of hours and when you can work depends on your level of study and your term dates.
Your visa will show details of any work conditions granted to you.
Undergraduate students
You can work:
- up to 20 hours per week during your term dates
- full-time during Christmas and Easter vacations
- full-time after your final term ends until your visa expires.
Postgraduate Taught (Masters) students
You can work:
- up to 20 hours per week during your term dates
- up to 20 hours per week during the dissertation module, if applicable
- full-time during Christmas and Easter vacations
- full-time after the end date on your CAS until your visa expires.
Postgraduate Research students
You can work:
- up to 20 hours per week throughout your studies until you submit your thesis
- full-time between thesis submission and the date of your viva
- up to 20 hours per week while writing up corrections, between your viva and submitting your corrected thesis
- full-time after submitting your corrected thesis until the date your visa expires.
Part-time students
If you are studying part-time on a Student visa, you are not allowed to work.
