Alternative ways to travel
You can:
- Travel by bus. Take a National Express bus, but check for luggage limits before booking.
- Travel by train. Take a train to London Paddington, then another to Exeter or Cornwall.
When you arrive in Exeter or Cornwall, you will then need to find your way to your accommodation.
Travel by bus
- Take a National Express bus from one of the Heathrow terminal bus stations.
- Terminal 1 does not have a bus station. If you arrive there, take the free Heathrow shuttle to another terminal.
- When booking your bus ticket, choose:
- your nearest Heathrow terminal as the starting point
- your campus location as the destination. This could be Exeter St Davids, Truro, Penryn or Falmouth.
- The total journey time depends on your destination:
- if travelling to Exeter St Davids, the journey takes 3.5 to 6 hours
- if travelling to Truro, Penryn or Falmouth, the journey takes 8 hours.
- Prices vary depending on how early you book.
- Visit the National Express website to book your ticket.
Travel by train
You will need to take two trains:
- Heathrow to London Paddington
- London Paddington to the location nearest your campus in either Exeter or Cornwall.
Prices vary depending on the time and how early you book.
You can book all trains as a single journey using the Trainline website.
Train journey to Exeter
- Take a train from your Heathrow terminal to London Paddington.
- From London Paddington, take another train to Exeter.
- When booking your train ticket, choose:
- your Heathrow terminal as the starting point
- Exeter St Davids as the destination.
- The total journey takes 2 to 3 hours.
Train journey to Cornwall
- Take a train from your Heathrow terminal to London Paddington.
- From London Paddington, take another train to Cornwall.
- When booking your train ticket, choose:
- your Heathrow terminal as the starting point
- your campus location as the destination. This could be Truro, Penryn or Falmouth.
- The total journey takes 5 hours.
